The initials of Sea of Tranquility, the title of this latest cd, Recorded at DDE recording studios for Cluster AB+, gives its name to this new project by Emanuele Cisi, Marco Micheli & Francesco Sotgiu.

A collective project, where the research of sound expands in many different directions, the compositions become strokes of color used to describe different phrases that immediately change in the shape and dynamics; where the rhythmic energy is possessed by pulsations unknown to swing, the understatements, are worked and thrown back in a different sound, where a solo is disguised and tempered in a continuous collective dialogue.

In this CD, electronics have been used by the trio as if they were a forth member of the group, bridges between the three souls of S.O.T.

In its acoustic format, the group shows the 20 years that bond these three artists together. The Quartet of Emanuele Cisi, with two albums recorded 94’ (where are you) and 96’ (Giochi di Nuvole), in which besides the components of SOT, saw Paolo Birro sitting at the Piano, in an appropriate Key, laid the foundations for this new project.

The interplay and the symbiosis inside of SOT,. Makes it a fulcrum of energy, a kind of permanent workshop.

In which everything is included and listened to,; from Monk to the original compositions, from Ellington to the sounds of house to the extemporaneous inventions.
