Animalunga    Il mio posto nel mondo

Animalunga trio of the worthy bass player Aldo Mella from Alice Castle, debuts on cd , a cd cover of rare aesthetic

beauty, entitled "Il mio posto nel mondo" on the label EYS for DDE Records. The small musical group composed of Alberto Tafuri pianoforte, Roberto Bongianino Accordian and Aldo Mella on the acoustic instrument and supporter of a laid back jazz with multiple positive influences, We are talking about a formation numerically and purposely reduced to the bone, without percussion or horns or electronic Sounds, it is unavoidable that the style becomes, an almost classic intimacy, but not without modern characteristics. "Il mio posto al mondo" could be defined as a cd of contemporary jazz full of romanticism and tenderness by means of the fact that all of the Nine tracks are slow, almost to evoke a soft magical atmosphere with reminiscence of Ethno and world music. All of this perhaps is because of the typical sound of the small accordion of Argentina & French ancestry (the so-called accordion and bandoneon). Aldo Mella, plays with a less invasive instrument ,carried out in a role of companionship, as an equal with the other musicians creating thesesplendid atmospheres, and it's Mella who reveals himself as original composer of four of the 9 tracks on the cd "segundo, Animalunga, Testa di ruggine, Tina & Julio" &- segundo, the rest are penned by Tafuri . Well, we are talking about a beautiful cd made up of pure hypothesis of the three, manifested in the linear notes of the booklet; "Animalunga isn’t a soul, and it isn’t a band, it’s the heart cast into the heat of those afternoons spent playing at the oratory. The tallest amongst its companions, hence Animalunga, a loser’s face and melancholic eyes that have stories to tell, that’s it. Jazz and folk tradition, improvisation and experiments. This, for us, is Animalunga.".
